So, I headed over to MyPoints.com to redeem some points and order the ‘Eureka‘ Season One DVD set. I browsed around looking to spend the least amount of points possible. I also shopped around for the cheapest DVDs I could get. Both coincided at Barnes & Noble’s web page. Coolest part is B&N is a shopping partner with MyPoints so I earned 10 points per dollar spent at the site using the instant online gift certificate from MyPoints. I also earned points covering the difference between the gift certificate and the purchase price by using my MyPoints credit card AND I got free three day shipping AND I got an email saying my order will ship tomorrow, July 6th! Total out of pocket cost to me was $4.67. The shipping notification came within two minutes of placing the order. I’m pretty impressed with Barnes and Noble. The last order I placed online was with WalMart and they took four days just to get the package out the door and a week to get it here.

YES! Sci-Fi channel’s series ‘Eureka’ returns for a second season on July 10th at 9 PM! I’m buying the first season DVD set sometime this month and I can’t wait for the 2nd to start. At least there’ll be something worth watching on TV this summer.

I’m a freebies nut. I’ll sign up for just about any legitimate freebie out there. I can usually find someone who could use whatever it is, pet food, kids DVDs & books, etc. I just came across one for a keychain from the Sacred Heart League and found this on their page: 

“After registration, you will also have access to the “registered users only” area of our website which contains special prayers for viewing and printing.“

Elitist snobbery with prayers? How pathetic can you get? They might as well say “If you don’t agree to let us spam you and sell your information for profit we won’t let you in on the special prayers that god really listens to!” FEH!

Man, July is going to be a long month. I don’t know what possesed me to pre-order the new (last?) Hairy Pothead novel THREE months (oddly, to the day) in advance of it’s release date but we’re down to the last weeks before it ships. I still don’t even know when it’s going to get here. I ordered online from Barnes & Noble and their pre-order offer says we’ll get our book on the day it’s released, the 21st, but my order status says it’s not going to ship UNTIL the 21st. *sigh* it’s going to be a long three week…
