Seems police Sgt. Andrea Eichhorn has withdrawn her lawsuit against the victims family. Turns out there were quite a lot of people outraged over this idiocy. Funny how that works. Sgt. Andrea Eichhorn has been placed on PAID administrative leave. Yep, she’s getting paid not to work. Ain’t that nice.

Cop Sues Victims Family?!

My What the Fuck gage just got pegged while reading the morning paper. There’s a story about police Sgt. Andrea Eichhorn of the Casselberry Florida police force who is SUING the family of a one year old boy who almost drowned because she slipped and fell at the house while responding to the call. Her complaint is the family left a puddle of water on the floor after pulling the child from the pool which caused her to fall and break her knee during the rescue efforts. Excuse me?! The family didn’t stop during their emergency to mop the goddamn floor and this idiot is suing them over it?
Sgt. Andrea Eichhorn, fuck you. Seriously. I don’t care what commendations you’ve received you’re a disgrace to the uniform. It was a drowning call, you should have expected to find WATER on the scene. To sue a family who’s child is living in a nursing home becuase he cannot walk, talk or swallow, a child who breathes and eats through tubes, is one of the most despicable things I’ve ever read.

Wasn’t seriously shopping for anything but I had just looked up a TV show name on IMDB and clicked the DVD link in a futile hope that the show would be available for purchase. While over there at the Amazon shopping hell site I checked out my ‘Gold Box’ offers and found the following category:

I get the coolest spam…

Normally I just dump my junk mail folder without even looking at the contents but on occasion I do check to see if anything that shouldn’t be labeled as spam got there by accident. While doing that this morning I came across the following and had to share it with you guys…
Subject: SPAM:hawk@xxx.xx.xxx We think your house is haunted!
Three houses in your neighborhood have had high amounts of spiritual activity. Our instruments show strange energy radiating directly from your home.
Please dont wait until it is too late!
Must have been the spicy bean dip I had the other night..

Butterfly, pretty.

Was out in the backyard with the camera and came across this little fellow fluttering around the flowers…

Had to chase him for 15 minutes and took over 20 pictures to get one in focus. Hard to see the LCD screen on my camera in full sunlight and kept focusing on things next to him. Ugh!

Kids Games…

I’m seeing two extremes and both disturb the hell out of me…
On one hand we have the Leap Frog, Leapster, etc. line of toys and games that portray the idea that children when not eating, pooping or sleeping should be LEARNING! all the time, every moment of every day. Learn, learn, learn! You’re SIX how are you going to get into Harvard if you don’t play your Leapster! Learn, learn, learn! I don’t think the company makes a single toy designed just for fun, to play, to enjoy being a kid at a time when you’re not 80 and wearing diapers.
On the other hand we now have Monopoly with an electronic bank that doesn’t even require your microcephalic children to be able to count. You can play faster now because we’ll do that hard math stuff for you! Do we really need to play Monopoly faster? Are children (those who don’t have Leap Frog products that is) so moronic we can’t teach them a base 10 number system? My dad had a great way to speed up Monopoly, we divvied up most of the money when the game started. We started rich and got richer (The Donald Trump version of Monopoly) the games were cut throat and quick but at least we knew how to count.

That was freaky!

First the back story:
Last month we ordered pizza from Dominos, mom wanted to try that new Oreo desert they’re offering. The order came and it was screwed up so we had to call and have them send out two new pizzas. Those came, we ate them but weren’t very impressed (Little Caesar’s $5 ‘Hot n Ready’ pizza is far superior). We tried the Oreo thing later on and it was gross. Seeing their 100% satisfaction guarantee on the pizza box I wrote them an email telling them we were dissatisfied and wanted our money back as per their offer. The next day I got a reply telling me that the local store was independently owned and my complaint had been forwarded to the district manager. A week passed and I heard nothing from them. I wrote them another email. Another week passed and I again sent another email off. I still haven’t received a reply via email from them.
Now the freaky:
Yesterday a letter arrived from Dominos apologizing for the unsatisfactory food and referencing an email I never got. They included three $5 coupons. Figuring bad pizza is still better than no pizza we decided to order today, Tuesday, as they have a two for one deal on Tuesdays. I called, placed our order and got off the phone. Mom got up to get a couple bucks for a tip and before she could get back into the living room the doorbell rang. I said, “That can’t be the pizza guy, it hasn’t even been five minutes yet. If it IS the pizza guy I’m very impressed!” I opened the door…
IT WAS THE PIZZA GUY!
My brain’s going all sorts of “Hugnbmlbv vorp nop!” and he explains that they’d received my complaint and since he had a delivery in the area he was dropping off the refund I had requested. Not fifteen minutes later the doorbell rings again and it’s ANOTHER pizza guy with our order. I’ve got to give Dominos points for speedy delivery, less than 20 minutes, and they do deliver HOT food but it’s not very good food. We won’t be ordering from them again but at least I got a blog post out of it.

SPEAKERZ!

My Logitech Z-2300 THX Certified speakers arrived today! My mom came and got me, said she couldn’t move the package inside (damn UPS drop and run tactics!). I figured she was just being a wimp (wuv you mom!) and dragged my ass out there.
O h M y G o d !
I almost put my back out. My hands are killing me! It didn’t really register when I read in the description online Shipping Weight (in pounds): 37.5! That’s half a pound for cardboard, two or three pounds for the satellites the remote and cables the rest is the freaking sub! It’s seriously at least 30 pounds! and…
O h M y G o d !
It’s freaking HUGE! Literally twice as wide as the sub on the old Cambridge Soundworks FPS-2000 rig. I mean, ok, I read the dimensions, they just didn’t REGISTER on me…
Subwoofer Dimensions: 11″ Height x 11″ Width x 15″ Depth
I mean you look at the picture of it and say to yourself “Well they got in REAL close with a good camera, look how big those satellites are next to the sub!” Well the satellites are freaking HUGE too!
Satellite Dimensions: 6.75″ Height x 3.5″ Width x 6″ Depth
WalMart is no longer offering the 97ยข I got! I can’t imagine what these would have cost to ship. I hope they sound as good as they weigh! It’s going to be at least another ten days until I can find out. Poop!
