You’re pulling up to an intersection and heading for the turn lane. There’s one SUV at the light in front of you. 150 feet before you reach the intersection the turn arrow turns green; the SUV sits there. Just before you come to a complete stop you give your horn a solid tap; the SUV sits there. Now you’ve come to a complete stop… at a green light, you lay on the horn (”Sometime today, dipshit!”); the SUV driver suddenly realized he’s an imbecile and is horribly embarrassed. He flips you off, chirps the tires and just to prove his manhood isn’t in question he speeds off like a madman (Muy MACHO!). Half a mile down the road you find he’s been pulled over by the cops. I don’t think he appreciated my applauding as I drove past…

It’s picture day! It’s picture day! It’s picture day!

Anyway… Trying something different today. My left (I’m left handed) shoulder’s been in utter agony for the last week and sitting at the PC’s one of the most painful places I’ve found myself in. Having edited, cropped and generally made my pics presentable for Flickr and not wanting to do so again for the blog I’m going to post a few thumbnail previews here on the blog and link ya’ll to my Flickr pages. Look, I don’t hate cops. When I was young I went through the rebelous stage and had my run ins with the police. I call them pigs, behind their backs, and reviled their existence but now I’m an adult and I know they’re doing a necessary job and things would probably be a lot worse if we didn’t have them around and if I’m going to do something stupid or illegal it’s my fault if I get caught not the cops…

We need to stop teaching our kids to ‘Trust Mr. Police Man’ and instead ‘Film the Cops At All Times’ to ensure they don’t fabricate a case against you!

Some of you might remember; just about a year ago I tried several times, futilely, to catch a picture of the hawk/falcon who lives in my neighborhood and only managed to get a picture of him mooning me as he flew away.

Finally, today I was sitting in the kitchen watching the world go by, the rain and hoping for a thunderstorm when he flew up, landed on the telephone pole across the street from our driveway AND he sat there long enough for me to grab the camera and get a few shots! YAY!

Isn’t he/she gorgeous? We’ve been visited by birds before and there’s turkey vultures all over the place down here but seeing a falcon/hawk (whichever he is) in this suburban blight is just amazing.
