6:30 PM

Outside, for the first time in what feels like a week, it’s NOT raining! Still feet of water on the roads and we’re still completely trapped, neither of our cars could get out of here.

Hawk (no rain, no rain!)

4:00 PM

Damn! It’s STILL pouring. Lots of cars getting stuck out on the road next to us. LOTS of stupid people ignoring the ‘Stay at home, please!’ plea from the county/state. I’ve been here something like thirteen years and I’ve never seen flooding this bad. We couldn’t leave if we had to. Guy on the news just reported we’ve received more than half our annual rainfall in the last 48 hours.

Pics…

Hawk (feeling trapped!)

2:00 PM

It just won’t STOP raining! Streets are re-flooded, wind’s way up. Damn storm was supposed to be past us by now and it’s worse than it was last night…

Hawk (likes rain but seriously…)

11:30 AM

STILL pouring like crazy. ‘Official’ rainfall tally for the area is 9+ inches. The next town over reported over 12 inches of rain. No end in sight. Bit more wind than earlier.

Pictures!

1) Upwelling of water out of the storm drain (at least a foot of water) in my yard.
2) Sidewalk under water. If you look between the two houses the water in that canal has to be at least 30 feet deep and at that level at least 100 feet wide.
3) Better view betwixt the houses.

Video - not so Zen moment:

Hawk (I SO want to go out driving)

9:30 AM

Raining like mad. Harder now than it rained all last night. Storm’s slow pokin’ it’s way just off the coast just north of us.

Hawk (is it too early for a beer?)

6:00 AM

Hey, ya know what? It’s raining! Can you believe it? Rain!

Hawk (slightly punch drunk)

2:00 AM

Yay for naps!

“Eye” / center of circulation directly overhead. Quiet outside. Light rain, little wind. The night is pierced by the sound of someone running a generator or pump or something for the last ten hours.

Hawk (wonders what the hell Fay will do next)
